Sub-Inspector Olivier, Officer in charge No. 1
Launch also says he has seen the launch many times, always with the Union Jack painted on both sides and with the Red Ensign flying aft.
He stopped the launch about one week after the incident, the Union Jacks were still painted on the bridge and the pain was not fresh, he also found shreds of canvas clinging to tacks round the name of the launch port bow. (His statement is attached).
The witnesses from Steam Launch SAI KUNG also say the KWONG HING has always been flying the Red Ensign and the Union Jack always on the sides of the bridge.
LAI FUK, Coxswain of the SAI KUNG, also states he saw the Red Ensign flying at the stern of the KWONG HING and the Union Jack painted on bridge port side, distinctly when they passed at the time the incident was taking place.
We have been unable to locate Junk T1703H, or HO
MAU, foki of the HOI LEE Company to date.
I understand from Coxswain of KWONG HING that the
H.I LEE Company has gone out of business.
No police boarded and examined the KWONG HING
as she arrived at Shaukiwan at 02,30 hours on 22.1.40 and the master reported at Tsim Sha Tsui at 07.30 hours same day and she was undamaged.
I personally examined WONG LOI before he was sent
to Kowloon Hospital on 21.1.40.
He certainly had a small stab wound on the right
thigh, the doctor has certified this.
HO MAU Located on 6.3.40, his statement is attached.
